FAQs
What are the child/teacher ratios?
The child/teacher ratios are as follows:
- Ages 3-5: One team member per five children
- Ages 6–10: One team member per seven children
- Ages 10 – up: One team member per 10 children
If accommodations are made for infants, the child/teacher ratio is:
- Infants (under 1): One team member per two children
- Ages 1-2: One team member per three children
Note: Typically, there are at least two team members onsite at all times to ensure each child has the attention they need.
Do you run background checks on your team members?
Safety and security is CCCI’s number one priority. That’s why each and every team member undergoes a thorough background check prior to being hired.
CCCI also checks both personal and professional references to ensure that team members are responsible and enjoy working with children.
Can my children stay together in the same group?
Depending on the program, children may be separated into different groups to ensure that each child is involved in age-appropriate activities. This arrangement fosters a level of comfort between the children and their assigned staff member. Since most program activities take place in a common space, parents can rest assured knowing that siblings are never far from each other.
What kinds of activities are planned?
There are a multitude of age-appropriate activities onsite that are educational while focusing on creativity and fun! Depending on the program, children can:
- Build a life-size Jenga
- Engage in dramatic play
- Read a book
- Color and draw
- Play sports
- And more!
Plus, there are always arts and crafts and board games on hand. Whenever possible, team members always take advantage of the outdoor space available.
Can you accommodate my special needs child?
CCCI team members make every effort to accommodate all children. CCCI will work with you to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made. Please contact CCCI prior to the event to discuss your child’s needs.
Will you allow walk-ins, last minute sign-ups?
As long as there are adequate child/staff ratios and the space allows, CCCI can accept walk-ins or last minute sign-ups; however, there may be a late fee for this service. CCCI makes every effort not to disappoint families which is why pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
Can my child leave the program by himself?
No child is permitted to leave our program without a parent or guardian signing out their child and informing a staff member. However, in cases when there is a teen program, a child age 14 or older may leave with a signed release form from a parent or guardian.
Will you take my child if they are not potty-trained?
We do not discriminate against children who are not potty-trained. We do ask you to make a notation on your medical form and provide staff with adequate diapers, wipes and a change of clothes.
Can you accommodate my mature two-year-old even though the program starts at age three?
We understand that your child may be mature or in daycare; however, most of our programs are geared toward children age three to 12. Unless the program is designed to include infants, the space may not be suitable for younger children. Keep in mind that these surroundings are unfamiliar and may not be ideal for your child.
What if my child feels especially uneasy in new surroundings?
CCCI’s team members, most of whom are teaching professionals, know how to make every child feel safe and secure. They are trained to be responsive to each child’s individual needs, whether they are shy or anxious.
Upon entering any CCCI program, each child is greeted, introduced to team members and made to feel comfortable and part of his/her group. Team members also start each program with a “getting to know you” activity that helps children feel more at ease.
Can my child bring their own computer or hand-held games?
We strongly discourage children from bringing laptops and computer games, as well as using cell phones. We encourage all children to participate in group activities.
Please remember that our staff is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
